Maybe there should be an announcement about the release of the new .hack//ROOT novels and the upcomming .hack//GU game? :3

f

Did anyone watch the April 1st airing of the first episode? I wanted to, but I was busy playing a game.
I watched some clips later of the Adult Swim "prank," and I thought it was pretty hilarious.

Stahn Aileron from Tales of Destiny and Judas from Tales of Destiny 2 are currently among my favorite Tales of Series characters. Tales of Destiny is my favorite games, as it got me hooked on the Tales series in general and was among one of the first RPGs that I ever really played as a kid.

I would like to join this group because I feel that I would be a great contributer to the fandom. ^^

f

They are making a TV series?! Really?!
I'm probably really slow to this news, but I'm so excited!

f

Kinda belated, but... Your resident member here just turned 21 on January 8th!

Cheers! (*psst* Still don't have much of a penchant for alcohol, but I recommend the Mudslide for anyone who is legal.)

There is something I have been curious about, and I hope you guys don't mind the topic change all of a sudden... ^_^'

But who do you like better from XXXHolic? Yuuko or Watanuki? Personally, I have a hard time deciding myself, since I love Yuuko's twisted sense of humor, but I also like how Watanuki wigs out all the time (along with my strange habit of thinking he looks alot like Harry Potter).

What about you guys? :D

Hello, everyone! sarisasenshi here.
I'm new to the club, and was thrilled to find a fanclub for Shamanic Princess. (The picture of Tiara and Graham helped a little too. *ahem*)

Anywho, it's nice to meet you all! :D

f

Thanks for the warm welcome! :D

But is it just me, or does finding a fanclub like Oldsters only manage to make me feel like I'm really old? Hahaa... Probably not.

f

Let's see....
I own two of the domestic Full Metal Alchemist DVDs and the Special Edition tin, the domeestic OST (1), the first Full Metal Alchemist game, the first unreleased manga book, aaand... some capsule figures and two fanbooks.

Needless to say, I've played the first PS2 game, and I really love it. I still need to finish it though.

I was hoping to cosplay as the movie version of Edward, but I have neither the hair (I'm a brunette) or the time to do it in. Besides, I'll be sure to see alot more of the Elric brothers at Otakon this year with the release of the series domestically. That will be enough for me. :)

This is a tricky one for me...

I think that someone can become an fan, persay, of a series without knowing the casting of a series. Fans can become attracted to the characters or the story without drawing themselves into the way many of the minor and major characters express themselves. Personally, I find that very hard to believe, but nonetheless, I do think it really makes a difference into how much a fan can care for a series. It is my personal belief, however, that if you do not allow yourself to pay attention to the emotions the characters within a series feel or how their voices help to express themselves, then you can't be called a true fan of a series.

Therefore, if you really love an anime series, you will want to find out who the people are behind the characters. Sometimes out of curiosity, other times because they may seem familiar to you... After taking this first step, and learning who the seiyuu are and what other roles they do, it might even boost your love for this series and help you look at them in a different way. In this way, I have to agree with Kei-kun. If you really love an anime series, you'll have to try really hard to ignore the people who give some of your favorite characters their voice. After all, you could almost go as far to say that they are the lifeblood of those characters, and so you should at least give them some respect for that, right?

Being a true fan is a wonderful experience, and it helps you keep your eyes open for other times when a seiyuu you might remember by voice or name might appear. Then again, being an otaku doesn't hurt either. (Unless you want to pay for it through your wallet. Hehee... ^_^')

f

I have been a fan of Fullmetal Alchemist ever since a friend of mine lent me about the first 12 episodes of the series on fansubbed CDs...

Since then, I've been hooked watching the series on Cartoon Network and collecting the series on DVD as they come out.

I would honored if you would let me become a member of your club! :D

f

Hello everyone! I'm fairly new to the club, but I hope you can find it in your hearts to extend a warm welcome to me.

Anyway, my roomate and I have been seiyuu fans ever since we started to avidly watch newer anime series featuring the Japanese language tracks as well as fansubs. It is because we cannot help but look over at each other when we pick up the sound of a familiar voice, and then scramble to find out who it is and what other roles they have done. It is almost like a game to us, but it also is interesting to see what kind of experiences seiyuu have, as they even tend to pop up in the most "unexpected" places in our favorite anime series'.

Among some of my favorite seiyuu are undoubtly names you might recognize:
Japanese Seiyuu: Midorikawa Hikaru, Hayashibara Megumi (I am also a big fan of her singing!), Seki Tomokazu (The man is everywhere!), Ishida Akira, Okiayu Ryoutarou (Who I almost always incidentally refer to as "Shigure-san"!) and Koyasu Takehito (He makes me break out in fangirlish squeals whenever I hear his voice. ^_^' )

- I also have recently become fond of Seki Toshihiko, who does the voices for Iruka (Naruto), Duo Maxwell (Gundam Wing) and Cid (Final Fantasy: Unlimited) among others. The other Japanese seiyuu I have had a fandom for a long time is, strangely enough, the voice of Inaho from Master of Mosquiton, Imai Yuka. I know her well through her voice role as Rutee from the Tales of Destiny Playstation game, and also very recently as Shiori from an episode of Konjiki no Gash Bell.

English Seiyuu: David Lucas (Who my friends affectionately refer to as "Mr. Spike Spiegal-voice."), Mona Marshall (Who is also everywhere!) and Scott McNeil (Who I have had the pleasure to see in person at Ohayocon twice now!)

Nice to meet you all! :D
