I see. I didn't hear about that, and so I apologize.
Should I remove some of my older scans submitted from her site? I think there are a few others in the Tales of Destiny gallery as well... (Not to sound like a whistle-blower.)

Actually, there is no question about it. I have already deleted all the scans that I have submitted recently and in the past from APA.

Thanks again for letting me know, since I have enough respect for Nuriko that I would want to carry out her wishes.

f

I have been running into some recent troubles, most likely from attempting to post some scans that were created a very long time ago by Nuriko (with proper credits given).

Since none of these scans contained offensive qualities, I'm assuming that it was either due to bad quality or to the way the image was presented (these ones were more like colorful character designs than art). But I'm not here to question the why...

Instead, I was wondering if anyone could clarify for me what Minitokyo.net's definitons of a "bad quality" scan are? I am fully aware of the policies on scans that appear too blurry or noisy, but here is what gets me confused. If a scan (such as from a magazine of lower than Newtype quality) already has a noisy medium due to its color inking, then would it be best to avoid submission even with minor cleanup? (Still preserving the integrity of the image, of course).

I guess I am trying to see what physical examples of "good quality" and "bad quality" are not just so that I can avoid being shafted after submissions. But because I do want to be able to submit better scans to Minitokyo.net.

Thanks in advance.

A friend of mine brought the over the first DVD released by Funi and we watched it together. It left me completely in stiches by the end of the final fourth episode on the DVD.

Desert Punk, or Sunabouzu, is an action comedy thrown in the middle of a wide, brutal desert. It follows the adventures of the "Sunabouzu," a freelance handyman who takes random jobs for good pay, from collecting money to capturing criminals. Throw a little chaos and ecchi-references into the mix, and you have an action series on crack!

The "edited version" that Funi made is especially funny. Perhaps even more so than the original version.

f

Thank you all. Your instruction has been/will be very helpful to me. :)

f

Sorry if this question might have been answered before. I ran a search for another thread, but I couldn't find one... Also, I'm not sure if this has been addressed in the FAQ or policies, so...

I am interested in submitted a plot synopsis, specifically for the Tales of Destiny gallery. I remember that you used to PM Nuriko if you wanted one on the frontpage of the gallery. Is that still how it is?

Thanks!

As others have mentioned, the manga-ka never has explicitely stated whether or not Yondaime is Naruto's father, or for that matter, much about Naruto's past at all. All we ever get to see from his past is his "exile" from the community for being the sole possessor of the Kyuubi and the very moment that it's spirit had been sealed within his body.

I have a theory...

If you look at Garaa and his history... Isn't it true that the sealing of a monster like the Kyuubi would require a sacrifice?

If this is the case, then it would not be surprising for Yondaime to have died that way, given his responsibility as the village hokage. But for Naruto as an infant to be so readily available for the sealing is odd, and can only be explained if something about him made him a more worthy candidate for the sealing. In other words, someone would have to know of his existence. I feel that Yondaime definitely would have been there, and if Naruto is his son, it would explain why he was the one chosen to contain the Kyuubi and for Yondaime to sacrifice himself in the process.

Sorry if this sounds a bit like rambling. I sort of thought this out as I wrote it. >.<

Edit: Also, I personally think it is highly improbable for Naruto to be the reincarnation of Yondaime. There are a number of things that crunch that theory, I think, not limiting itself to backstory and personality differences.

I am a big fan of any of the works of Osamu Tezuka that have been released recently, and I was a little surprised by how much I liked the Black Jack TV series after the first 1-hour special.

Has anyone heard/of seen this series? It is currently being released by Froth Bite and I'd think that anyone could enjoy it. Also, this is another series that deserves some major art scans. [/shameless plug]

A sequel series to "Black Jack," the 61 episode TV series, just came out this April. It is called "Black Jack 21" and it seems to follow where the last series left off.

The first episode of the series was released by db & Froth Bite and Hell-Fansubs not too long ago.

I hardly think that a person's feelings can be stopped by sheer will. This seems to be a growing misconception these days as the ignorant, self-professed know-it-alls are believe that this is truly the cure for everything. If such is the case, then why are people suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, etc.? No one wants to pay for drugs, and no one wants to be ill. You could call it escapism, but sometimes people can help themselves. The same can be said for gay people.

I firmly believe that gay people are born into that interest. Does that make them "ill"? Of course not. This is merely more persecution against their beliefs. I know because I have seen many good gay people in my life, never infringing on mine and living perfectly happy normal lives. Yes, HIV and AIDs are a problem, but this is also in the heterosexual community as well, isn't it? There are ways to treat and prevent these illnesses for all. It is at the cost of those who engage in such activities to look after themselves, not strictly because they are gay.

Finally, I am getting so tired of people hiding behind the Bible. I am a Christian, and I am still tired of all this gay-bashing. You must remember that this was a book written thousands of years ago, by a number of different men and through their interpretations. Interpretations that could have as much validity as falsehood, but I digress. I do believe that the Bible is meant to ispire, not to act as a rulebook of life. Also, wasn't it Jesus that had always preached that you must love others as you do yourself?

Jesus loved the sick, the provocative, and the traitorous... What makes you think that gay people who try to follow their faith (and even those who do not) should be persecuted for being themselves?

When I went to see the J-Rock band known as Blood at Ohayocon, I almost mistook alot of their members for being girls. *laughs* Otherwise, I think I only ever had a problem in the earlier days with Mana, who I thought was just too beautiful to be a guy. ^_^'

Edit: But I never presumed too much about J-Rock/Visual Kei anymore in regards to crossplay. It's just not worth it. Strangely enough, what -really- confuses me is bishy/feminine anime characters. -They- are the ones that have still been making me go, "That's a guy?!"

Recently, I have finished playing Tales of the World: Narikiri Dungeon 2 and 3 for Gameboy Advance. I think they are both pretty fun games, but I prefer ND3 to ND2 since the designs and gameplay of the game work alot better for me.

Has anyone played/heard of any of these games? Or the one that started it all, Tales of Phantasia: Narikiri Dungeon for Gameboy Color? Let me know what you think, and if you played any of the games, what your favorite game is. :D

Quote by ClassicSupermanI have an e-mail account there with the same trouble. I don't know
exactly why the server is down, but this kind of problem happenned in
the past and took several months for them to recover. Hope they can
return quickly. :D

Oh, I hope it doesn't take months... o_0
I was expecting something important to come in, and while I can still make different arrangements for that one, it's still a pain. It makes me wonder sometimes why I don't just up and move to a different account, but then again, neo-anime.org can be such a reliable account in other ways.

f

This might be a far throw, but...
Is there anyone else that frequents Neo-anime.org (http://www.neo-anime.org) for one reason or another? My e-mail access account is there, and the server has been down for serveral days. Does anyone know why, or having the same kind of troubles?

I had pre-ordered Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete by a stroke of luck after purchasing a game guide at Software Etc., and I fell into the fandom soon after playing the demo disc that came with the down payment.

Though I have never played the Sega CD versions of the games, I do own both of the Playstation games, the Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete demo disk, and the Ghaleon punching puppet with the Lunar 2: Eternal Blue Complete pre-order. I also played a bit of Lunar Legends, although I haven't finished it yet. It isn't like the Complete version, but I do thing it adds another fun twist to the story.

However, while I thought L:SSS was great, I still like L2:EB much better. The story seemed more developed, and the added movie footage added a great deal to both the most dramatic and comedic parts of the overall storyline. But I do hold a special place in my heart for L:SSS and will always remember every event down to the letter, as well as memorable characters like Kyle, Jessica and Nash.

I'm hoping to go this year as Xellos, and I'll try my hardest to meet the task! It would be great if I could bump into you guys, since I'm a little new to cosplaying but a huge fan of the Slayers series. My mother is going to help me with the costume, and with my designing skills, we're going to try to make this is a good one.

I can't make any promises, but I will try to stay in touch, okay? I will be going with a friend this year, and she has never been to Otakon before, and so I'm hoping to make this a fun experience for her.

- Catch you later! -

What a heart-wrenching story... It is always a tragedy when two promising young people die so young.

The murder of these two was a terrible incident, but it is my hope that they may rest in peace knowing that the murderer has been arrested.

Quote by KazenoKoeSocks all the way. First, you can slide on smooth surfaces, which is
awesome, and it keeps your feet warm and protects them from whatever
people decide to spill on the floor. And if you need to, taking them
off is easy. I think sliding is my best point.

I used to slide all the time when I was in my freshmen dorm in college. Hehee... Nearly killed myself doing it sometimes, but it was worth it! ^_^'

I've always been accostomed to wearing my socks around the house, even during the summer! For some reason, I always feel a little insecure about it, and find it weird when I walk around the house in my bare feet. It could because I don't like feeling chilled.

What about you? Do you like to wear socks or go barefoot most of the time?

I have noticed this ever since I joined around the last week of April, and while I find it flattering to one of my favorite series ever, I still don't get it. Why is the popularity of the series so widespread over MT in forum topics, walls, scans and doujin? I know that I may be overstating, but I keep seeing this and find myself stumped.

Sincerely,
Your semi-curious n00b, sarisasenshi

I'm a bit indifferent on the issue. As a child, I can only remember suffering an alternative method of punishment to spanking when I got into big trouble, but most of the time I either avoided it or recieved some other smaller form of punishment. But in terms of conditioning children to behave better in general, I don't think hitting is really the answer.

Pain is a temporary thing, and will last about only a minute. Depending on the age of a child, this fear of pain can be a terror or a nuisance. Some children get into so much trouble that they don't even care anymore. That is my first arguement. My second arguement is that is can be taken to far by irresponsible adults, blossoming into abuse. Even worse, it could teach a child that is alright to hit others in order to "teach them a lesson." I believe that would only make matters worse, but please remember that it is all in theory.

Note that I have worked with children for several years now as a babysitter, chaperone and overseer. I have worked with both the young and the adult and have to handle my share of problems sometimes. But from my personal experience, words tend to sink in much deeper in even the most troubling sorts of children, especially when all they want to do is feel needed. I have never, in my entire experience of caring for children, raised my hand to a child. I believe violence, even to discipline is wrong, and will instead reply on other means such as taking privaleges away, stay with the child, or like with "grounding," isolate them under special conditions.

Besides, usually when a child is mishaving, there is definitely a bigger reason as to why than "just because." Believe me, I know.

Quote by EternalParadoxAnything my friends bake. Those girls make the awesomest cookies. As a guy, I'm so blessed. ^_^

Wow, you really are a lucky guy! :nya:

f

I was bored, and so I made a batch of Snickerdoodles this afternoon using a pre-made mix, some eggs and butter. So, I was wondering... What are your favorite cookies?

I'll put up some cookies I know of on the polls, but feel free to add any I'm forgetting in your post. Please don't include Girl Scout cookies, there's already a thread for that.

I meant to say kind of cookie, but "king" has a nice ring to it, don't you think? Argh... A lesson that fast fingers under the influence of a caffeinated brain don't mix.

During the summer or after I'm done power-walking, I usually like warm showers. But generally, I love hot showers that are just high enough in temperature to make it really toasty for me. I find it really relaxing, and sometimes I try to find an excuse just to stay under the water. ^_^'
